LA PALA is an instrument we use  to bury or uncover, to penetrate a soil which is rich in culture and traditions in order to plant new ideas or eliminate those which don´t work anymore.

Mexican art today is vital and plural.  Many traditional forms of art such as painting, sculpture and etching exist along with non-object genres such as performance, installation, video-art and conceptual art,  which have erased the borders between artistic disciplines and definitions.

However, although non-object art in Mexico has been present since the second half of this century,  in the nineties it became a major force.

The goal of LA PALA is to create a platform for contemporary non-object art in Mexico.
